here is a mini interview with amanda! aka inkleadpaint!
troy: what sorts of things do you look to for inspiration?
amanda: I’d say my life and art is very much dictated by color and line… I look to nature(plant and human) for inspiration. The seasons, and the moods they provoke, play a major role for me. Signs of nature and human collaborations such as clotheslines, potted plants, gardens, seashells on a windowsill, spiderwebs in the corner of the bedroom, etc.. and of course other artists which I seek out obsessively thanks to the world wide web.
stephano: please tell us of an artist we may have never heard of…
amanda: allie kelly. myspace.com/alliemkelly
troy: what is the weirdest thing you’ve ever seen, maybe something you can’t really explain? (try to anyway)
amanda: well yesterday I had a fish cleaned in my side yard. there was a whole crayfish in its stomach. and a little balloon inside of it that you could pop..the balloon gives it buoyancy. and the fish itself, a brown trout, had startling red polka dots..maybe not the weirdest thing, but surely the most fascinating thing as of lately. the guts are still laying out there.
troy: what is the first music you can remember hearing/loving.
amanda: I think I would rather keep that one to myself.
troy: are there any pets from your past that deserve a major shout-out, and why?
amanada: well there is charles from my current. he is a cat, and he is fat, and he is orange. he is a king. he is moody. he is absolutely perfect.
now go check out inkleadpaint! thanks amanda! say hello to king charles: )
